Robotic Demolition Services

Demolition, which used to be a dangerous, dirty job is now made cleaner, safer and easier through modern advancements in robotic demolition. With our robotic demolition services, larges concrete structures can be easily broken down quickly and effectively. Being robotic means that operatives can control the machines remotely, keeping them safe as they work at distance from the demolition being completed.

We have a range of machines at our disposal, that can be fitted with a range of different bits including drill bits, breakers and crushers.

This technique can be used for a multitude of demolition purposes including concrete pillars, beams, foundations and floors and walls without the vibrations of more traditional methods.

We have three main remote controlled demolition methods – these are Robotic Concrete Breaking, Robotic Concrete Bursting and Robotic Concrete Crushing.

ROBOTIC CONCRETE BREAKING

Tackling strenuous, time consuming or challenging concrete breaking tasks is easy for our robotic demolition machines. During demolition and renovation projects, large and complex concrete structures often need too be removed and breaking the larger slabs into smaller sections is the easiest way to do this. While this can be completed by hand, this is a very physically demanding and sometimes dangerous way of demolishing.

Concrete breaking machines likes the ones we use from Brokk and Husqvarna use electric motors to drive hydraulic systems that power a robotic arm which we can attach a plethora of breakers, crunchers or buckets to. Our highly skilled operatives use a remote console to manoeuvre the machine into position and to break, burst or crush. This keeps our personnel safe and results in a safer and more efficient way to break concrete structures.

Access to a range of different demo machinery in all sizes, allows us to tackle every type of concrete breaking task from the precise demolition which requires the smallest machine that can fit through door ways and get into the smaller spaces and so is better for sensitive environments, all the way up to largest projects like entire buildings being demolished from the inside out without disturbing nearby structures. Being remotely controlled means that the machines can also be used in hostile environments like kilns and radioactive/nuclear areas.

ROBOTIC CONCRETE BURSTING

When a concrete demolition job requires a quiet and controlled method then we use hydraulic concrete bursters. This method can used when demolishing or weakening large structures and can used on concrete, stone, block and brickwork.

The process for bursting concrete involves pre drilling small holes into the material to be burst which creates openings for the hydraulic bursters to fit in to. The number of holes drilled into the surface will depend on the size and thickness of the structure, the material being broken up and the type of structure. The burster heads are then inserted into the openings and pneumatically expanded increasing the pressure in the material causing it to fracture and split. The resulting smaller sections of material can now be easily cleared from site.

This is the ideal method for removing larger structures made from concrete, stone and masonry in projects that require low noise levels, vibration and dust. It is an efficient and versatile technique that BritCut operatives have used many times on successful projects across the UK.

ROBOTIC CONCRETE CRUSHING

The last option of robotic demolition that we have available to us is Concrete Crushing. This method uses hydraulic crushing jaws that are attached to the robotic machine to break up large slabs of concrete such as walls, floors and stairs. It is a quiet and minimally disruptive technique that enables us to remove the concrete in smaller sections for easy clearing.

This way of breaking down a solid structure uses no vibration and is water free. The jaws are attached to the machine (Brokk or Husqvarna) and then pushed onto the open edge of the slab (wall or floor). The hydraulic pressure is then applied, closing up the jaws and crushing the concrete and this process is repeated until the area being demolished is complete.

We have access to robotic demolition machines of varying sizes and power and these can be fitted with many different attachments, giving us the ability to crush even the thickest concrete.

This technique is best used where large solid structures made of concrete, masonry or stone need to be removed in an efficient and non intrusive way. The method is virtually emission free and avoids dusts, noise, vibration and water. Leaving the structure unaffected and causing as little disruption as possible to neighbouring buildings and the rest of the site.

We are also able to crush concrete using hand held hydraulic machine. These concrete crushers are guided by our experienced team of operatives who have knowledge from a range of different sites and working environments.
